90 Day Fiance: Cast Members That Most Franchise Fans Feel Sorry For

Though there are many 90 Day FiancĂ© franchise members who divide fans, there are also others who tug at the heartstrings of just about every viewer. For a variety of reasons, there are many cast members who fans think are too good for the franchise and deserve better than how they’ve been treated by the show and their significant others.

Of course, it’s impossible for any of the cast members to completely escape criticism. But even so, there are a few that most franchise fans have to admit have had a rough time on (and off) the show. Many of them get sympathy for being in terrible relationships or for dealing with significant others who treat them badly or have otherwise been taken advantage of.

Rose dated now-despised cast member Big Ed Brown on 90 Day FiancĂ©: Before the 90 Days, and though viewers were initially wary that she was just trying to get a green card, it wasn’t long before fans took her side. It quickly became clear that if anyone was using anyone in that relationship, it was Big Ed. Fans took issue with the way Ed treated Rose, shaming her for having bad breath and body hair, and belittling her culture, to name a few offenses. At the end of the season, viewers cheered when she dumped Ed and called him out for his bad behavior. Since then, fans have been firmly Team Rose.

Evelyn and her husband David are an often-forgotten couple from 90 Day FiancĂ© season 5, and though Evelyn can rub many fans the wrong way, they still feel bad for her when it comes to her relationship. Evelyn was just 17 when she got engaged to David, who is nearly a decade older than her. Many fans are disturbed by the age difference in their relationship and think David was “grooming” the less experienced Evelyn. Viewers don’t always love Evelyn’s attitude, but they give her a pass due to her age, and think she’s been taken advantage of by David.

Zied first appeared on Before the 90 Days season 3 with his fiancĂ© Rebecca Parrott before the couple transitioned to 90 Day FiancĂ© season 8, and he’s become a fan favorite for his lovable and goofy personality. Although he says he loves his now-wife Rebecca “so mach,” many viewers don’t think Rebecca treats him well. It does seem that she loves him, but many fans think Rebecca speaks to Zied like a child and is overly jealous and protective of him. Viewers are crazy for Zied but don’t think Rebecca is right for him.

Olga got pregnant by Steven Frend while on vacation in Maryland, and it was their baby that kept the couple together. Fans were horrified by their relationship on 90 Day FiancĂ© season 6, mostly because of the way Steven treated Olga. After their son was born, he seemed jealous of the attention the new baby was getting and didn’t know how to take care of Olga after giving birth. Fans were happy to hear that Olga and Steven broke up, but according to their recent 90 Day Diaries appearance, the couple is giving it another go.

On 90 Day FiancĂ©: The Other Way season 4, Erica and Stephanie Matto were the franchise’s first bisexual couple, though they may not have been the best representation. Erika isn’t necessarily beloved by all viewers and has been subjected to cruel comments about her body and appearance. However, most fans will agree that the main problem in her relationship was Stephanie. Many fans felt Stephanie was abusive to Erika and was jealous and manipulative. It’s fair to say that Erika has had a terrible experience with the franchise, and a lot of fans feel bad for her.

Syngin and Tania Maduro have become franchise regulars since appearing on 90 Day FiancĂ© season 7, and the couple actually seems pretty happy together. However, many fans won’t forget the way Tania treated Syngin on their inaugural season. Though Tania arranged an elaborate welcome for Syngin at the airport, she failed to prepare their living situation, and even admitted that she felt her ex-boyfriend was her real soul mate. The couple has stayed together, but many fans still think that Tania is overbearing and have a lot of sympathy for Syngin.

Yolanda fell victim to one of the most obvious catfish schemes the franchise has ever seen on Before the 90 Days season 4 when she “dated” Williams. Though he pretended to be a handsome man from England, Williams was actually a Nigerian scammer who eventually tried to blackmail Yolanda. Fans were just about as exasperated by Yolanda’s gullibility as her adult children were, but many viewers were aware that as an older woman, Yolanda isn’t as well-versed in about catfish scams. Fans felt bad for her, but since the Williams debacle, Yolanda has stepped out on social media with a handsome new man.

Of course, some of the franchise’s stars that fans feel the worst for aren’t primary cast members at all, but rather the children stuck in the middle of their parents tumultuous relationships. From Nicole Nafziger’s daughter May getting dragged halfway around the world to Morocco, to Tiffany Franco Smith’s son Daniel, who fans think is more mature than most of the 90 Day FiancĂ©: Happily Ever After? cast, fans have the most sympathy for these tangential cast members who have no say in the matter.

It’s rare that 90 Day FiancĂ© fans can agree on anything; however, there are some of the show’s stars that viewers can’t help but feel sorry for. Not all of the cast members listed are universally beloved, but most fans can agree that there are aspects about their relationships and situations that are unfair and deserve a little recognition.
