Gilmore Girls: 10 Scenes Fans Love To Watch Over & Over

While some TV shows are only entertaining upon first watch, as the plot twists and jokes become stale, fans of Gilmore Girls enjoy binging the whole series over and over again. The tale of a mother and daughter in the small town of Stars Hollow is widely considered one of the most comforting shows, and it has many popular elements, from the quick pace to the coffee jokes and coming of age storyline.

There are several moments on Gilmore Girls that fans enjoy watching countless times, whether they solidify Lorelai and Rory's beloved bond or make romantic viewers.

10 When Rory And Lorelai Hug After Her Terrible First Day At Chilton

Fans loved seeing Rory and Lorelai hug after Rory's first day at intimidating private school Chilton. She was confused about why Tristan called her "Mary" and since the other students didn't welcome her, Rory wondered if she had made a mistake changing schools.

From the opening moments of the pilot, it was obvious that Rory and her mom had a special relationship and that this was going to be a different kind of show. The second episode is an important one as Lorelai made a mistake by wearing an inappropriate outfit to Chilton, but the show proved that she's only human and that Lorelai was still an amazing support system for her daughter.

9 The Thousand Yellow Daisies Scene

There are several memorable Gilmore Girls scenes and it's impossible not to mention when Max asked Lorelai to marry him with 1,000 yellow daisies.

Lorelai may have decided not to go through with the wedding and embarked on an impulsive road trip with Rory, but when Max proposed, she really was excited and thought that this was the way her future was supposed to go. Fans who love sweeping and epic romantic gestures likely love this scene and rewatch it regularly.

8 When Rory And Dean Bonded During His First Movie Night

A first date is often awkward, even if two people already know each other or have an instant connection. For many high schoolers, having their mom ask someone out for them would be humiliating.

While Rory did freak out when Lorelai invited Dean over for movie night, she accepted the situation, got ready, and made the best of it. This is a beloved storyline and there is one scene in particular that stands out: when Lorelai leaves and Rory and Dean are watching the movie alone. They clearly like each other and it's adorable to see. Dean takes a pillow from the couch and puts it behind Rory and they share a sweet look, and then Rory keeps pretending that she isn't staring at him.

7 When The Whole Family Fought During Friday Night Dinner

In the season 6 episode "Friday Night's Alright For Fighting," Rory and Lorelai attended Friday Night Dinner and everyone kept fighting. Fans love this scene as it was different from the rest since the characters alternated between laughing and arguing.

The topic of conversation was about Emily and Richard allowing Rory to stay in their pool house when she dropped out of Yale. They were upset about Rory moving out and Emily called Rory spoiled. This was an important scene since it was rare to see the whole family discussing their issues and pain points.

6 Lorelai's Dream About Luke

At the beginning of season 3, Lorelai shared that she had a dream that featured Luke, and she was expecting twins.

Lorelai shrugged this off pretty soon after, but this was a smart move on the writers' part, to continue building the Luke and Lorelai romance. Gilmore Girls fans who love rewatching scenes that foreshadowed this love story will count this scene among one of their favorites. This is just as beloved as when Lorelai asked Rory if she thought Luke was cute and Rory said that she couldn't date Luke because they had to be able to get coffee and food from the diner.

5 Lorelai And Rory's Yale Sleepover

Harvard was Rory's dream school and she decided that she would rather go to Yale. But while she was thrilled to finally be starting this new part of her life, she didn't realize she would be upset and miss Lorelai so much on the first night.

Fans love watching the scene when Rory and Lorelai had a sleepover. They ordered tons of takeout, howled, and made each other laugh hysterically. While viewers would have loved for Rory to stay in Stars Hollow forever, of course, she had to grow up, so this scene was proof that she and Lorelai would always stay the same.

4 When Emily And Richard Arrived At Rory's 16th Birthday Party

Emily and Richard's presence at Rory's 16th birthday party was meaningful for her, as Rory wanted to connect her two worlds and have her grandparents meet some of the Stars Hollow residents.

The Gilmores showed up at a perfect and hilarious time: when Luke arrived with ice and Lorelai yelled, "Jeez, who the hell's ringing the bell? It's a party! Get your a** in here!" When her parents walked in, looking surprised, Lorelai was embarrassed and said, "Or a***es I guess." This scene is well-written as it showed the contrast between Lorelai and her parents.

3 Rory Dressing Up As Donna Reed

Rory and Dean's romance is a big part of season 1 and many viewers liked seeing Rory dress up as Donna Reed and try to understand why Dean was such a fan.

This is one of her most interesting storylines, as she realized that she was being too judgemental. After doing her typical research, Rory respected Donna Reed as a strong, independent businesswoman and realized that Dean was right and it can be nice to make a meal for a partner or family. The moment when Dean saw Rory in her outfit was sweet and funny.

2 Rory, Paris, And Lane Bonded While Heartbroken

It can be tough to have two best friends and split time between them, but Rory always handled her friendships fairly well, and there is one hilarious scene when she, Paris, and Lane were all heartbroken at the same time.

In the season 4 episode "To Live and Let Diorama," Rory, Paris, and Lane bonded while drinking Founder's Day Punch and being upset over their romantic situations. This punch is known for being way too strong, so it was particularly funny to watch Paris walk around without shoes asking for money for a payphone.

1 Luke And Lorelai's Wedding Dance In A Year In The Life

Lorelai and Luke didn't get married until the revival, and while fans wanted to see their wedding day happen many seasons earlier, their wedding dance to "Reflecting Light" by Sam Phillips is very popular.

This is a Gilmore Girls scene that is perfect to watch over and over, as it's romantic, emotional, and wraps up a love story that went on for so many seasons and has always been a favorite part of the series.
