Sons Of Anarchy: 10 Deaths That Everyone Saw Coming | ScreenRant
Sons of Anarchy had so many deaths, it's tough to keep up or even remember them all. From members of SAMCRO to those of rival motorcycle clubs, law enforcement officers, and others, the deaths were aplenty.
Some of the deaths on Sons of Anarchy were pretty emotional, from Tara's brutal death scene to Opie sacrificing himself for the Club. Despite how shocking they were, however, even if fans didn't predict the manner of death, in several cases, fans totally saw the death itself coming.
10 Tara

While the way Tara died was completely shocking and one of the most heartbreaking scenes from the series, the fact that she would die and that would be the event that would send Jax over the edge was easily predicted by fans.
When it came to Jax, Tara was the one positive constant in his life and the person with whom he wanted to get away from the club to start over with. So, it made sense in the context of the show that the only way to stop Jax from getting what he wanted would be to remove her as a distraction.
9 Unser

For much of the series, Unser was the law enforcement officer that SAMCRO had in their back pocket. He toed the line, sticking with his allegiance to the police force and doing what he could to help out the motorcycle club. In shows like SOA, however, the good guys rarely win.
Thus, it wasn't all that surprising that Unser did not make it out alive. What was most shocking, however, was that he died trying to protect Gemma, for whom he had a soft spot, and at the hangs of Jax in a fit of rage, for whom he had done so much to protect.
8 Opie

Opie was on a downward spiral as soon as he lost his wife Donna in an accidental hit that was meant for him. He was rife with guilt and always seemed to want to prove himself to the club, even though it was revealed that he never actually betrayed them in the first place.
While fans didn't want to see Opie, considering that he was Jax's right-hand man and fiercely loyal to him, it was inevitable that he would die. Up until the death of Tara, however, his death scene was the most shocking and graphic. But, he went out on his own terms, finally proving his loyalty without a doubt by sacrificing himself to fulfill a debt.
7 Gemma

Again, like Tara's death, the way that Gemma went out—being executed by her son Jax—could not have been predicted. But, the fact that Gemma would not make it to the end of the series alive was not a surprise.
Despite playing a pivotal role within SAMCRO, Gemma was still, in a way, an antagonist and villain on the show. She and Jax appeared the most on the series of all characters, so it was fitting that they would both go out around the same time.
6 Jax

As much as fans wanted to believe that the series would end on a happy note for Jax, it wasn't likely given the nature of the show. Once Tara was gone and Jax killed both Unser and Gemma in cold blood, there was clearly nothing left for him. There was no way out of the deep torment he would likely have lived out for the rest of his days.
It was poetic, in a sense, how he went out at the end. Fans would have to have been really good to have predicted it, and, while it was shocking when it happened, Jax was beyond redemption. So, the character met a fitting end.
5 Josh

In the first season, Jax discovers that Tara has a stalker, her ex-boyfriend Josh. Given what Jax does as the leader of SAMCRO combined with his naturally violent nature and love for Tara, it was obvious that he was going to come head-to-head with Josh at some point to get him to back down by any means necessary.
Indeed, while Tara shoots Josh first after he sneaks into her house,, Jax arrives in time to shoot Josh right in the head, ending his life.
4 Deputy David Hale

If there's ever someone in law enforcement who is straight, narrow, and by the book, chances are they won't last long on a show like Sons of Anarchy. Indeed, in the third season, Deputy David Hale was the thorn in SAMCRO's side who didn't let them get away with anything.
What was shocking about how Hale went out was that the Sons of Anarchy members didn't even have to get rid of him themselves. Instead, he ended up dying at the hands of a rival biker gang while attending a wake. He remains one of the characters on Sons of Anarchy that fans felt was gone too soon.
3 Clay

It was inevitable right from the beginning that the friction between Jax and Clay would not last and that one of them would have to go. Seeing as Jax was the clear protagonist of the story, it was only a matter of time before Clay was killed.
It was almost certain that Clay would die at the hands of Jax; it was the only way, after all, to solidify Jax's position as the new leader of SAMCRO and to get revenge for his father's death.
2 Otto

Otto fell deeper and deeper into a worst-case scenario; he was stuck in jail, losing sight in one eye and then getting stabbed in the other. He lost his wife, and then was eventually being sentenced to death. As if that weren't enough, Otto proved that he did not have much time left on the show when he gets beaten with a lead pipe and is told, point-blank, that he will live out the rest of his days in misery.
Otto went on to get repeatedly raped, and eventually slammed his own head against a table and biting out his own tongue, which was the last straw. It was no surprise when he finally met his end by being shot multiple times in the chest.
1 Damon Pope

On a show like SOA, primary antagonists usually don't last the entire way through, so, whenever a formidable foe is met, fans can easily predict that they'll eventually get what they deserve. Such was the case for Damon Pope, who was responsible for the heartbreaking death of Tig's daughter.
Tig was given the opportunity to take Pope out, which helped him toward dealing with the guilt and pain. Tig, in fact, ended up having one of the best character redemption stories on the show, driven in large part by being able to overcome the loss of his daughter.
